Here are some tips to get the most out of this experience:
- Begin seeing your life as a living workshop. Your life is a living exploration. The challenges and the rewards you experience in your daily life are rich opportunities to learn. Your task is to get nerdy and get curious. You're a detective and in each circumstance you are investigating how you can create and experience that is easier, more enjoyable, more beautiful, interesting or more effective. What new choices can you make? If it's already amazing then you're looking for ways to soften and let the good in even deeper.
- Show up for the live sessions. What you bring and who you are is valuable. Showing up live also means you're committed. You're disciplined. You're scheduling your time, setting boundaries with others to make room for You. That's great self care! If you can show up for the live calls once per week, what other ways will you choose to show up for yourself throughout your life? The way we do one thing is the way we do everything. Back yourself.
- Watch the replay videos when needed. Life happens. There may be a day when you have a scheduling conflict. That's why the recordings will be posted as soon as I'm able. Carve out a dedicated time and space where you can give yourself the gift of full presence and focus. Watch the replays in order. They build upon one another.
- Start your exploration practices and projects early. A week goes by pretty fast. Schedule your creative exploration time. I recommend making these creative projects ongoing part of your week. If you're exploring with curiosity, this should be fun and easy. Remember, there are no grades! You are free to express and discover. That's the point ;)
Tools & Materials you'll need:
- Computer (looks like you're already got that one. √ )
- Sketchbook. I like this brand for the paper quality and this one for quick simple drawings and writing (plus my drawing is on the cover so I'm biased, ha!).
Optional for Creative Projects - Your dance moves. (PSA: Your thang requires shaking.)
- Your preferred music platform (itunes or spotify) to make playlist(s)
- Colored pencils. Prismacolor is hands down the best for both pros and beginners alike.
- For Visual Artists:
** Paints of your choice. I recommend watercolor or acrylic. Oils only if you already know what you're doing.
If you're new to painting try watercolors.
- This is a pan set by Faber Castel, and these brushes are a good start. They are both from quality brands (No point in paying for crumby brands unless you will never ever use them again). Choose any size you want.
** Hold off on buying paints until an announcement is made. Course assignments may shift.
For calls you'll want:
- Sketchbook.
- Your wheel (drawn or printed) with your primary creations arranged in their current placements.
- A glass of water or cup of tea (because you deserve that yummy hydration. Energy Flows on water. Keep it moving.)
